Really excited to be reading A Cresci 2020 paper tonight on such a large full October moon! There seems to be a connection with all life stages of eels to the phases of the moon. Quite incredible to think that as I was taking these photos earlier that Silver Eels, such as Eirian the Eel changes into, will be leaving our rivers using the same full moon to migrate downstream on the ebb tides as they start their long journey back to the Sargasso Sea! Thinking of them and hoping that as many as possible make it safely back to spawn the next generation of leptocephali!
