Eirian and Echoes of Eels are at Coed y Brenin Visitor Centre, near Dolgellau!

Echoes of Eels exhibition is now in the Visitor Centre at Coed y Brenin near Dolgellau! It is a magical place with three rivers joining the Afon Mawddach before emptying into the Mawddach estuary! The photograph shows the Afon Eden just below the Visitor Centre. Afon Eden is home to European Eels so Eirian and the whole exhibition are very relevant to the site! The eels will have swum up from the Mawddach estuary on their way to the Afon Eden. It is exciting to have the artwork so near to where actual eels live. I am looking forward to going back and taking more photos of likely places along the river bank where eels might have found a place to grow into a silver eel before returning to the Sargasso Sea! If you are looking for somewhere to visit over half term then go to Coed y Brenin, wander beside the river in the woods see the exhibition and get a great cake with a cuppa when you get back to the Visitor Centre – I can vouch for the cakes!!
